Seasons and Dates

 

January
Barracuda, Shark, and Jacks are the most reliable with permit as a secondary target during warmer weather periods.

February
Permit fishing really starts picking up this month, especially on the warmer days. Barracuda, shark, and Jacks are still cruising the flats in large numbers.

March
This month provides possibly the best permit fishing of the year with tarpon becoming potential targets when the weather and wind cooperate. This month is also prime time for shark fishing with bonefish starting to roam the flats in decent numbers.

April
The permit fishing remains strong early in the month with tarpon becoming the center of attention as water temps continue to rise. Bonefish, shark, barracuda and jacks.

May
The peak of tarpon season! The permit are offshore spawning and we are completely focused on “poons”. The night fishing for tarpon is outstanding!

June
Tarpon are still the main attraction both day and night. Permit start trickling back to the flats and the bonefishing is heating up.  Shark, barracuda.

July
This month gives anglers the best chance for a slam. Plenty of tarpon still around both day and night with permit and bonefish numbers strong, as well. Shark, barracuda.

August
The focus switches to baby tarpon. Early morning and late evening fishing for tailing bonefish and permit is excellent. Sharks, barracuda.

September
Peak bonefish month. Permit and baby tarpon fishing remain strong. Sharks, Barracuda.

October
The weather is starting to cool down but bonefish and permit fishing is very good with baby tarpon still hanging around the mangroves. Sharks, barracuda.

November
Permit fishing is still strong with the barracuda fishing really picking up. Sharks, jacks.

December
Good numbers of barracuda, shark, and jacks with occasional permit hanging around the flats between coldfronts.
